A summer of change is likely at Tottenham as they continue their battle against the drop in the meantime. Spurs' Premier League future hangs in the balance, with Roberto De Zerbi's men two points from safety and desperately trying to catch West Ham.
Whether Tottenham stay or not, it has been a disastrous season for the club, and serious changes are going to be needed this summer. With the manager having already been swapped, the big changes are likely to come within the club's strategy, and the playing staff, and Radu Dragusin is one of the prime candidates when it comes to the latter.
Radu Dragusin pursuing a move
Several sales are likely as part of a squad overhaul that will only extend in the case of relegation, and Dragusin is likely to want out. The defender has struggled for game time this season, and not just because of the serious injury that kept him out until late December.
Since returning Dragusin has been a bit-part player, and it has only got worse under De Zerbi. In fact, the versatile defender has only played one minute of football since the new manager's arrival, and that came in the final minute of the win over Wolves last weekend.
Dragusin's agent has maintained that the Romanian player is fully focused on the task at hand, and that there has been no request to leave North London, or indeed to find a new club.
But a fresh report from Fanatik has claimed Dragusin is getting 'closer and closer' to leaving the club this summer, with his agent, Florin Manea, said to have met with RB Leipzig over a possible move for his client this summer.
It's claimed Manea also stuck around to watch Leipzig in action against Union Berlin recently having held talks. It's claimed Leipzig have a €40million to improve their defence with two signings this summer, and it's expected Dragusin will cost around half of that.
The report adds that the defender has given the green light to a move to the German club. The deal will surely only become more likely if Tottenham are relegated this summer, though even if the North London club beats the drop, it seems unlikely De Zerbi will have the Romanian at the forefront of his plans, and significant money is likely to be spent on revamping this defence, especially with a Cristian Romero departure likely.
Many fans clamoured for the signing of Dragusin, but he has not impressed in white, and so his potential departure won't upset too many.
