Tottenham midfielder charged for comments

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been charged for his comments made towards South Korean people at the beginning of the summer.
It has now been confirmed that Bentancur has been charged by the FA for an alleged aggravated breach FA rule E3 misconduct, as it included a reference, whether express or implied, to nationality and/or race and/or ethnic origin. The FA says that the midfielder has until next Thursday, the 19th of September to respond to these charges.
If the said charge is upheld by those at the FA, Bentancur faces a ban of between 6-12 games as a consequence of his comments.
Son spoke on his Instagram story shortly after, saying: I've spoken with Lolo [Bentancur]. He made a mistake, he knows this and has apologised. Lolo would not mean to ever intentionally say something offensive. We are brothers and nothing has changed at all. We're past this, we're united, and we will be back together in pre-season to fight for our club as one. Sonny."

As you can imagine, fans are in uproar over this news, with several people citing Enzo Fernandez orchestrating derogatory chants towards players of the French national team after Argentina won the Copa America final in mid-July. Fernandez's punishment was a mere apology to his teammates and a donation to an anti-discrimination charity, whilst receiving no internal or external disciplinary action.
With the midfielder having until the 19th September to respond, he should still be available for the North London derby this weekend, as well as the Carabao Cup tie with Coventry City on Tuesday night, with a potential ban kicking into place just a couple of hours after the end of that game.
The Spurs midfielder is currently serving an unrelated international ban, for his part in the aftermath of Uruguay's Copa America semi-final defeat to Colombia, where he was seen throwing bottles into the crowd. Therefore, he missed their two games over this international break and will miss the two played over the October break, too. As a result, he may not play another game of football until November after the game against Coventry on Tuesday.
