Pedro Porro and James Maddison were not called up by their respective managers, having both also been overlooked by both Euros finalists during the summer.

Micky Van De Ven has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad, to be able to fully recover from the problem that kept him out of the defeat at Newcastle.

Timo Werner was not called up for Germany, with his last call-up to the national team being in March of 2023.

Perhaps they would not have been included regardless, but injuries to Richarlison and Dominic Solanke have ruled them out of international duty.

As of right now, there is no source to confirm whether or not Yves Bissouma has been called up to Mali for AFCON qualifiers against Mozambique and Eswatini.
