Tottenham Hotspur might not be as bad as you think. In fact, a statistic shows that Ange Postecoglou has already implemented a great system.

Zooming out, it is easy to look at Tottenham's season at underwhelming. Their 8th position in the Premier League does not do Ange Postecoglou's side any justice, it must be said.

However, in the last few matches, Tottenham have looked like a serious outfit again. The return of key players such as Dominic Solanke has helped the cause, so too have Brennan Johnson's and Micky van de Ven's return to form.

With four wins on the bounce across all competitions, fans hope to have seen the turning point in Tottenham's season. Time will tell, of course, but at least with the current form, things look positive.

Great statistic shows Ange Postecoglou is killing it at Tottenham Hotspur

As per a finding from WhoScored, Tottenham Hotspur have won back possession in the attacking third more times than any team in Europe's top five leagues. In fact, they've won back the ball in this position at least eleven times more than any other team.

Historically, it has taken Ange Postecoglou time to implement his changes at former clubs. He keeps touching on this point but this statistic should show Tottenham fans they mustn't give up on the process.

After all, the Aussie boss wants his players to play his brand of football. Without a doubt, this entails high-octane pressure in the final third. Similar to how Jurgen Klopp orchestrated Liverpool's attackers to pounce on any loose ball, this will also be adopted at Tottenham.

Winning back possession in the final third is, by its very nature, a great trait to adopt. Not only does it increase attacking opportunities but it also inherantly limits defensive vulnerability. A win-win, you could say.

Tottenham will play two more matches before the October international break (sigh). First up, they will face Ferencváros in the UEFA Europa League, then Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.

If Tottenham can win those two matches, they will make it to six games won on the bounce before the break. Say what you want about Postecoglou but this is pretty good going.
