Three Tottenham squad members took part in the friendly on Thursday, as England came out on top 3-0.

Dele and Harry Winks started the match for the Three Lions as they kept a dominance in the first half. Dele linked up well with the other English attackers and they took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Dele’s footwork, dribbling and passing ability were all on display as he constantly worked the ball through the American half.  The midfielder also provided an assist on Jesse Lingard’s fantastic curling effort. Overall, it was a great performance from the 22-year-old and he received a warm reception once subbed.

Harry Winks was also lively in the 70 minutes he played, using his wide passing range and burst of speed to move the ball into attack. He combined well with Dele numerous times in the first half, as England dominated the match early.

One thing Winks does struggle with is making an impression on each game he plays and at points he did drift out of the match from time to time. As Winks gets older and more experienced, he should be able to become more of an influence. Right now, the young English midfielder is top of the pecking order for Spurs, and this friendly was another solid outing from him.

Eric Dier entered the game late as he returned from his thigh injury. While his club form has been shaky at best this season, in his limited time against the U.S., Dier was composed, efficient and tidy. He broke up several American attacks his size and strength outmatched the much smaller U.S. midfield.

For England, Harry Kane remained on the bench as Wayne Rooney was given his final national team cap. Young defender Cameron Carter-Vickers also failed to make an appearance for America.

England play Croatia on Sunday for a chance to remain in the Nations League Group A, while the United States have a friendly scheduled against Italy for Tuesday.
