Tottenham vs. Arsenal: Spurs looking for redemption
By Gary Pearson
The moment for redemption has finally arrived as Tottenham look to show their most bitter rivals the 2-0 loss at the Emirates was a mere flash in the pan.
Tottenham haven’t lost both matches against Arsenal in a single season since 2004 and they’re not about to revisit that tragic occurrence when the two North London sides battle at Wembley in tomorrow’s early kick off.
Current Arsenal happenings
Begrudgingly, Arsenal have improved substantially since the transfer window closed about a week ago. The man with a superfluous amount of names, Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang, along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, have shaken things up at Arsenal.
They rid themselves of the disease that was Alexis Sánchez, replacing him with two bona fide world-class creators.
"However, for all their attacking prowess, Arsenal have not solved the issue that haunts them most: their astonishingly weak underbelly and pathetically porous rearguard."

Arsenal’s defence is as insecure as a teenage girl at a secondary school party. They lack the guile, heart and defensive nous to crack the top four, which Spurs will once again prove tomorrow.
The Gunners’ woeful road record is a prime example of their inability to grind out results, a basic requirement of a top four team in England.
Their ninth best road record is comprised of only three wins from 13 away contests. Back-to-back away defeats to Swansea and Bournemouth is compound by Arsene Wenger’s side earning just a single win in their last six away from the Emirates.
This isn’t an ordinary away match, though. Wembley doesn’t offer the same ominous atmosphere for an away side, and Arsenal enjoy thoroughly playing there.
They have won nine straight matches at Wembley since April 2014, but records are meant to be broken. Spurs are also on a good run of form and haven’t tasted defeat at the national stadium since a 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Aug. 20, their only setback in 13 home games this season.
What’s happening with Tottenham
Spurs head into the match unbeaten in 12 Premier League encounters. irreconcilably, Spurs have lost only one of their last seven North London derbies, four of which ended in a stalemate.
Spurs lay claim to the league’s fourth best home record, taking 28 points from 39 at Wembley. Winning six of their last six at home, Tottenham are swatting away all comers, outscoring opponents 19-4 during that span.
Harry Kane is an Arsenal killer, scoring six goals in as many games against the Gunners. The reverse fixture in November was the odd on out, the only game he didn’t score in a North London derby.
Next: Who will start for Spurs vs. Arsenal?
If Davinson Sánchez starts, it’s imperative he gets his nerves under control from kick off. Once Tottenham gain a stronghold in midfield, they can overpower Arsenal in the final third and capitalize on a startlingly vulnerable defensive unit.
