After a memorable 2016/17 season, Tottenham travel to Hull City in hopes of sustaining the high note they’ve held over the last week right through the end.

Mauricio Pochettino’s final matchday squad of the season is a strong one, built to win all three points against Hull in hopes of extending their record haul for the season.

There are some notable absences of course. Érik Lamela remains on the sidelines after only playing a handful of matches this season. Both Danny Rose and Kyle Walker — the full-back pair rightly praised as the best in the league — are also out injured. Mousa Dembélé is consigned to the bench as well as he struggles with an ankle issue.

While the match will do nothing to change either team’s position in the league, Spurs will be hoping for a big game from Harry Kane.

His four goals against Leicester City on Thursday put him in command of the Golden Boot race, and he will be aiming to add to his tally in order to keep off Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

He will be assisted to that end by Dele Alli, Heung-min Son and Christian Eriksen. That quad of players are responsible for 65 of the 79 goals they have scored this season, making them one of the most fearsome attacks in the league.

Behind them will be the engine room, where opposing attacks die and Spurs’ are begun anew. Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama began the season as the team’s central midfield duo, and now will end it in the same position.

Expect a bit of a twist though, as recently when Dier ostensibly takes to the pitch in a midfield role he’s actually fading in and out of defense as well, dependent on the state of the ball. It’s a remarkably fluid system that yields tremendous benefits when Eriksen is also threading the needle through attack and midfield.

Finally, Spurs’ best-in-the-league defense. They don’t often get the plaudits of Kane and Dele, but Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are no less vital to this team’s success. Rose and  Walker are both out, but Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier have solidified themselves as worthy cover for the pair of England internationals.
