Tottenham Hotspur must think long and hard about where to send Mikey Moore for the 2026/27 season, with an array of clubs keen on signing the teenager on loan.
Spurs will feel as if they got it right this time last year, with Rangers the chosen destination for one of their brightest young stars.
Moore enjoyed a promising 2024/25 season in Lilywhite, primarily starring at the start of our successful Europa League campaign. Illness eventually struck him down and he was unable to contribute down the stretch, but the impish playmaker had nonetheless left an impression after shining at youth level.
The 18-year-old said he "loved every single second" of his spell up in Glasgow, and the 'Gers are open to taking Moore on loan for another season. However, alternative experiences have opened up for the Tottenham youngster, and one project is particularly interesting.
FC Köln loan might be the right move for Mikey Moore
Borussia Dortmund and Championship side Middlesbrough have also thrown their hats in the ring, but another Bundesliga club, FC Köln, appears to be leading the race.
Die Geißböcke returned to the German top flight last year and achieved top-flight stability via a 14th-place finish. They're now led by René Wagner, who took over as caretaker manager in March and has since earned the job full-time.
The club is backing Wagner to lead a successful long-term project on the Rhine, despite failing to win their final five Bundesliga outings. He ultimately guided them to safety.

Many believe Köln to be brimming with untapped potential, and there's been a clear shift in transfer strategy this summer. In addition to Moore, they've signed Manchester City youngsters Reigan Heskey and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey to long-term contracts.
There's a sense of excitement building at the near-50,000-capacity RheinEnergieStadion, which depicts FC Köln's might. The three-time Bundesliga winners have the foundations in place to re-emerge towards the summit of German football, but haven't installed the requisite strategies to facilitate short-term stability and long-term growth.
Acquiring talent on the continent to complement one of the country's most esteemed academies is a promising policy tweak, and the club must believe that they'll soon be able to garner a sizeable fee for Said El Mala. The 19-year-old scored 13 times during his debut Bundesliga season, and Köln had accepted a €50m offer from Brentford at the start of the window.
El Mala turned the Bees down, however.
El Mala primarily plays down the left, so you'd expect that Wagner would look to play Moore as a No. 10 during his loan spell. We don't want our youngster competing with Köln's best player for minutes.
I'm sure the club will sell Spurs a dream for how they'll be able to maximise one of our gems, as Hamburg did with Luka Vušković last year. They may not be the grandest of institutions, and the start of a new project with an inexperienced young manager could quickly go south, but there's a boom potential with Wagner's Köln, and Moore would be a great help in the space-haven that is the Bundesliga.
