Tottenham Hotspur has sent a firm message by responding to Real Madrid's interest in signing one of their key defenders.

Tottenham Hotspur are taking decisive action regarding Pedro Porro in light of Real Madrid's keen interest in the right-back.

Recent reports indicate that Los Blancos have been impressed by Porro's performances since joining Spurs and are eyeing him as a potential long-term successor to Dani Carvajal.

The 24-year-old showcased his talent on an international stage during Spain’s recent Nations League match, likely solidifying Madrid's resolve to make a move for him.

However, Tottenham is not sitting idly by; they are well aware of the growing interest in Porro, particularly from the Spanish giants.

According to TBR Football, Tottenham are very happy with Porro’s contributions and are not surprised that he has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s elite clubs.

To counteract Madrid’s pursuit, the club is reportedly planning to offer the former Sporting Lisbon player a new long-term contract early in the new year, even though his current deal runs until 2028.

While Tottenham are focused on retaining Porro, they can breathe a little easier, as it appears that Real Madrid have not identified him as their sole target.

The reigning European champions are also monitoring other right-back options, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Jeremie Frimpong, and Juanlu.

This suggests that Madrid is still in the process of evaluating their options and has not committed to any particular player just yet.

It was clear that Tottenham couldn't just sit back and do nothing. The player himself reacted to Real Madrid's interest, expressing his pride about it.

It’s tough for any player to be indifferent to a club like the Spanish capital side, but it’s in these moments that the Spurs board has the chance to show that their ambitions match those of an elite club.
