Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race alongside Premier League rivals Man City and Liverpool, to sign Raul Moro from Real Valladolid.

Tottenham Hotspur has a brilliant summer transfer window in 2024. They strengthened where they needed to and Ange Postecoglou headed into the 2024/25 season full of confidence in his squad.

However, Spurs did not start this season how they intended to start it. Following a disappointing end to last season where they dropped out of the top four, Spurs continued where they miserably left off.

Still, there is opportunity for improvement. Spurs are in no position to panic as they are afforded the lifeline of teams around them also performing poorly this season. It is still early days, after all.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur will compete with league leaders Liverpool and Man City in the January transfer window, to sign Raul Moro from Real Valladolid.

The report suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring a Spanish player into their ranks. After all, they would like to revitalise their squad and inject more energy into the proceedings. Therefore, signing a Spanish player like Raul Moro would be the way to go.

Raul Moro has had a brilliant breakthrough in Spain. While he is yet to make his debut for the national team, the consensus is that it's only a matter of time before he does.

Moro is just 21 years old and following his impressive loan spell at Valladolid last season, the Spanish club were left with no choice but to sign him permanently.

The report states that Real Valldolid could demand over €10m (£8.3m) for Raul Moro. This is because he is still a fresh player and they understand he has a great ceiling. Without a doubt, the infamous and unspoken Premier League tax would have been taken into account here.

Tottenham Hotspur do have the funds to pull off a transfer like this. After all, they have cut costs in recent seasons and even raised their own funds through significant player sales.
