Tottenham have had a horrid few seasons. The Europa League win surely papered over the cracks nicely, but they were burnt toast in the Champions League this time around.
Big changes are needed, and that's partly why Tottenham signed Andy Robertson from Liverpool. The Scottish defender, primarily a full-back, has a proven track record of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.
Whether he can replicate that Hotspur Way is a different story, but it can't be a bad thing to have such experience in the dressing room.
Andy Robertson suffers an injury scare at the World Cup
Against Brazil, Scotland were completely outplayed. Andy Robertson was one of the Tartan Army's worst performers, but he wasn't on the field for long enough to suffer from heat exhaustion.
Robertson was hooked off after half-time through injury. It remains to be seen how injured he is, but that's the least of Scotland's concerns as they await to see if their sole win is enough to make the knockouts.
It's easier to make the knockouts than not, but Scotland were in one of the groups of death.
Nevertheless, an injury to a Tottenham player. Breaking news, everyone.
It's hardly surprising for any Tottenham player to be told one of their players is injured, however, what is particularly bleak about this one is that Robertson has picked up a scare before even kicking a ball for Tottenham.
Hopefully, Andy Robertson is okay. We will learn more about the severity of his injury over the coming days.
Either way, it can be pretty safely said that Andy Robertson will be focused on Tottenham sooner than he would've thought after game day one of the World Cup. Unless other teams absolutely stink in the third game, Scotland are headed home.
Robertson will head into the next season with the feeling of a point to prove. For the last few seasons, he has dwindled far away from the player he was in his prime. He appears to have lost a yard of pace and he doesn't seem as on-it with the ball at his feet as he once was.
One thing that hasn't changed, though, is Robertson's mentality. He will still leave absolutely nothing on the pitch, leave the game red-faced safe in the knowledge that he's given his all throughout the 90 minutes. This, truly, is something that Tottenham fans only saw when Roberto De Zerbi was hired towards the end of the season.
