There is zero question that Yves Bissouma will not be a Tottenham Hotspur player next year. Not only does Bissouma's contract run out at the end of the 2025/26 season with no interest from Spurs at any point in extending him, but Spurs were already actively shopping him in the previous summer transfer window.

In fact, Bissouma was the player Tottenham were shopping more than anyone else on the team. And he would have been successfully sold to Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce for a few tens of millions of pounds if it were not for an untimely injury.

Bissouma remains exiled from the squad due to both injury and the fact that Spurs have no use for him at all. And after the latest laughing gas incident, Bissouma's future is so far removed from Tottenham that all Spurs fans can do at this point is shake their heads and wonder how in the heck they ended up with this problem in the first place.

Yves Bissouma actually has interest

You would think that with his mediocre play on the pitch, injury history, lack of minutes, and severe disciplinary issues, Bissouma would have less than no interest on the transfer market other than a few assorted clubs around Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which was pretty much the case in the summer transfer window.

And yet, according to a new report from Tom Allnutt of The Times two of the biggest clubs in Ligue 1 are actually now showing intereset in Yves Bissouma, too, as Nice and Marseille would like to nab the Premier League center midfielder. Marseille's interest is not surprising when you look at the, ahem, wonderful souls they have signed during Roberto De Zerbi's bizarre tenure at the French powerhouse.

Allnut also reports that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sell Bissouma even more after the ridiculous laughing gas video. That has all but sealed Bissouma's fate, and while they have the option to sign him for another year just to sell him for a profit, they are confident they can offload him in January for a bit of cash with the kinds of clubs watching him.

Fenerbahce and other clubs in the usual leagues are still being linked to Bissouma, so there are bidders out there. And Bissouma showed in the Europa League that at a step below the top end of the Premier League, he is actually a pretty decent midfielder. If Spurs can get anything out of this miscreant in January, it will be a blessing.
