Spurs coach in talks to become new manager of Anderlecht

According to journalist Sacha Tovolieri, Ryan Mason is currently leading the race to become the new manager of Belgian Pro League side RSC Anderlecht, with "talks now advanced" for a deal to be done.
Mason is currently a first team coach at Spurs, having previously been an interim manager on more than one occasion, an academy coach before that, and of course an academy and first team player before that.
That said, Paul O Keefe has said that Mason's role at Spurs has been "somewhat reduced" with Nick Montgomery "much more prominent", suggesting that the club might not even look to replace the 33-year old as a result.
Should a deal for Mason to become the new manager of Anderlecht, he will become the manager of Jan Vertonghen, someone who he played with 54 times at Spurs, totaling over 3000 minutes of football together. This would not be a new thing for Mason, who was in charge of the likes of Harry Kane, Heung Min-Son, Eric Dier, and Ben Davies during his interim spells in charge at Spurs. This is despite the fact Vertonghen is a whole four years older than Mason.
Whilst it is true that Mason is inexperienced and a gamble of an appointment, having worked, either as a player or coach, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Marco Silva, Antonio Conte, and Ange Postecoglu - he most certainly has a very good footballing education behind him.
Anderlecht are currently in fourth place in the Belgian Pro League, with 17 points from their ten games so far. They sit two points and two places above Luka Vuskovic and Alfie Devine's KVC Westerlo side, drawing 2-2 with each other back in the middle of September. They also, like Spurs, have beaten Ferencvaros 2-1 in the Europa League. They also impressively beat Real Sociedad in their second game, meaning they are one of five teams to have won both games, also like Spurs.
