Tottenham Hotspur are going to spend 60 million pounds on Omar Marmoush when the season ends and his obligation to buy on the loan deal with Manchester City triggers, but if he can play like he did in the first half of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season before arriving to the Premier League, Marmoush, at that price, will be a relative bargain for Spurs.
The key is maximizing Marmoush, and Roberto De Zerbi has a big decision to make when it comes to where he should play Marmoush. So far, the Egyptian international has stated both games as a center forward, and with Mohammed Kudus and Savio set to start on either wing, Marmoush in the middle has, generally, been the consensus position for the former Eintracht Frankfurt man upon his arrival to N17.
But Marmoush has also looked a bit isolated up top. He struggled in the last game against Nottingham Forest as Spurs, once again, failed to score a single goal, and although poor finishing was a bit of a hallmark of the game for the forward, he just didn't get much service.

And the lack of service both has to do with the playmakers and Mathys Tel on the left wing struggling, but it also has to do with Marmoush playing in the middle. Because let's say Omar Marmoush were to play on the left wing, you'd have to figure he would then be able to create a lot more chances than Mathys Tel did.
Tottenham Hotspur don't have a right or wrong answer here. They can play Savio on the left, Mohammed Kudus on the right, and have Marmoush lead the line. Or they can bring Dominic Solanke back into the lineup with Marmoush and Savio as the inverted wingers, and then they can experiment with Kudus as the playmaker behind them, especially in the mean time that veteran Premier Leaguer James Maddison is out with a dislocated shoulder.
It is an evolving conversation for Tottenham to discuss, particularly in these months without star man Xavi Simons, and it is one that could have huge ramifications on their season and how they play. Marmoush was so brilliant in Frankfut because he could score goals, create chances, and run the entire attack in transition. Perhaps those qualities are actually better served on the left, even as Spurs do need their best player in situations where he can score goals.
