According to an expert, Tottenham will have to face competition from Arsenal, Manchester City, and even Liverpool for their top transfer target.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze is under threat, as Arsenal and Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign the Crystal Palace playmaker.

The North London club had been strongly linked with a move for the talented midfielder during the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised. Now, with Eze still at Selhurst Park, the competition for his signature is heating up.

Despite a slow start to the current season, with Eze managing just one goal while his team remains winless, his potential has not gone unnoticed by Premier League heavyweights.

Manchester City, Arsenal, and even Liverpool are closely monitoring his progress, believing he could thrive in a more attacking setup.

Former Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa scout, Mick Brown, weighed in on the situation, telling Football Insider that scouts from top clubs are keeping a keen eye on Eze’s development.

According to Brown, while there are some doubts about Eze’s consistency, his ability to shine in the right circumstances is clear. "He’s shown he can be top quality, but he needs to show it every week," Brown said. "Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool – they’re all interested and keeping tabs on him."

Brown also highlighted that a move to a club with stronger attacking support could be the key to unlocking Eze’s full potential.

He suggested that a more cohesive unit around Eze would allow him to focus on his creativity, rather than having to carry the load on his own, as he often does at Crystal Palace. "If you feed him, he’ll thrive. In a team like City or Arsenal, he’d be getting the service he needs to really make an impact," Brown added.

Interestingly, Tottenham had reportedly reached a gentleman’s agreement with Eze over the summer, according to Football Transfers.

However, the North London club never formally activated his £68 million release clause, allowing other clubs to enter the fray.

There are now rumours that Spurs may try to negotiate a lower fee of around £50 million for Eze’s services next summer, but with interest from multiple top clubs, they might face a bidding war.
