Tottenham will have to face competition from Liverpool to sign a Premier League star, according to a recent report.

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to strengthen their squad and have their eye on one of the Premier League's most exciting talents, Eberechi Eze.

With the 2025 transfer window on the horizon, Spurs could find themselves up against stiff competition from Liverpool, who are also eager to land Eze’s signature.

Eze, now 26, has been a standout performer at Selhurst Park, and many believe it’s only a matter of time before he makes a move to a bigger club.

Some fans were surprised he didn’t depart during the summer transfer window, especially given his impressive performances.

Tottenham, having recognised his potential, are eager to reignite their interest in the midfielder as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

But Spurs aren’t the only ones interested. Liverpool and Newcastle United have also jumped into the mix for Eze, ramping up the competition for the Crystal Palace star.

Reports from Football Insider suggest that Eze’s £68 million release clause will be active again next summer, but clubs are exploring the possibility of a more affordable deal.

It’s believed that an offer in the region of £50 million to £60 million could tempt the Eagles to cash in on their prized asset, especially with Eze’s current contract running until 2027.

With Crystal Palace struggling at the start of Oliver Glasner’s first full season in charge, Eze is reportedly seeking a new challenge.

Despite his ambitions, the South London club is reluctant to entertain offers for their key players during the January transfer window, which could complicate matters for Tottenham and their rivals.

Liverpool’s strategy will also play a significant role in the upcoming transfer period. The Reds are focusing on bringing in a deep-lying midfielder this January, before potentially shifting their attention to attacking targets like Eze.

This means that Tottenham will need to act swiftly if they hope to secure the midfielder’s services before he potentially heads to Merseyside.
