After Tottenham Hotspur beat Man United, a Tottenham player reportedly called Micky van de Ven a slow b*stard.

Micky van de Ven was in fine form against Man United at the weekend. Without a doubt, he was the best player on the pitch, even picking up an assist in the opening three minutes. What an assist it was, by the way.

Micky van de Ven didn't have to defend too much. So, admittedly, a lot of his involvement was in Man United's half - A game which suited him and served as nice respite. When he did need to defend, though, he was resilient and composed.

It is quite surprising given his position and physical stature that Micky van de Ven is rapid. Both with and without the ball, he is quick to get from one side of the pitch to the other.

Against Man United at Old Trafford, Micky van de Ven ran the length of the pitch, following an interception, to lay the ball on a plate for Brennan Johnson. It was a testament to his speed and desire to exploit pockets of space.

In true British fashion, James Maddison was one of the first to pull out a sarcastic comment. He reportedly commented on Micky van de Ven's Instagram post, calling him a "Slow B*stard".

This was pointed out by a fan on Reddit. However, since the post, James Maddison comment appears to have disappeared.

So, nobody knows where this comment went. However, nobody would put it past James Maddison to comment something like this. He is known to be the centre of many jokes behind the scenes at Spurs.

James Maddison clearly had fun on Instagram after the Man United win. He also posted a video to his story, with Micky van de Ven yet again the butt of the joke.

According to talkSPORT, Maddison accused Micky van de Ven of rewatching his assist over and over. In his own words, Maddison said: "Micky! Stop watching your assist," and captioned the post "Caught him!!!! Just keeps watching his assist back."

Gary Neville named Micky van de Ven as his man of the match. It wouldn't have been a nice viewing for the Man United legend, but it's impossible for anyone to ignore van de Ven's incredible work.

Besides, we cannot blame Micky van de Ven for rewatching his performance.
