6 Tottenham Hotspur players with contracts expiring in 2025
By Kian Long
Tottenham Hotspur currently have one of the best squads they've had in a long time. With Ange Postecoglou at the helm, it is important the club keeps all of their staff happy, not least the players who represent the badge on the pitch.
There is a lot which goes into running a professional football club. This is why the job is reserved only for those willing to go above and beyond to ensure a smooth-running operation.
With that being said, the summer of 2025 should stick out to Tottenham Hotspur like a sore thumb. Unfortunately, at the end of this season, there could be players who leave on a free deal.
Here are the 6 Tottenham Hotspur players with contracts expiring in 2025.
6 Tottenham Hotspur players with contracts expiring in 2025
1. Son Heung-Min
As things stand, Son Heung-Min is the highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur. However, he also has one of the shortest contract shelf-lives at the club.
Son Heung-Min is, by every definition of the word, a club legend. Having played over 300 Premier League games by this point, Son bleeds Tottenham lilywhite.
He is the best player at the club, by a country mile. In fact, he is probably the best in his position in the Premier League. Therefore, keeping him happy and under contract is key to Tottenham, particularly during this transitional period.
Absolutely, there must be an increased effort to extend Son's stay in North London.
2. Sergio Reguilón
In all honesty, it would be a total surprise if Sergio Reguilón remained a Tottenham player for long enough to see out his current deal. That said, he doesn't have long left.
Sergio Reguilón is an out-and-out full back, who is better used in wide positions. His strengths revolve around overlapping runs and whipping in crosses from wide positions.
Since Ange Postecoglou values full-backs with the ability and instinct to cut inside, it is safe to say that Reguilón isn't a Postecoglou player.
As things stand, Tottenham could sell Sergio Reguilón. Therefore, it is unlikely he will be offered a contract extension anytime soon.
3. Ben Davies
Ben Davies is a well-respected figure at Tottenham Hotspur, for good reason. He has been a reliable player ever since he joined from Swansea City in 2024.
The Welsh defender has not always been a first-team favourite. However, his character in the dressing room has made him valued at Tottenham Hotspur
At all times, clubs need a roster of players at different levels. Davies fills the role of a player who can come in and give his all when required. Anyone who has played with Davies or worked with him can attest this.
It is likely that Davies will see out his contract and then leave on a free deal in 2025.
4. Fraser Forster
A legend of both the Scottish and English game, Fraser Forster has spent the last few years at Tottenham Hotspur. However, not much of his time has been spent on the pitch.
Still, Forster has been a valued member within the Tottenham roster. A veteran player with the ability to mentor those younger players around him, Forster is under contract at Tottenham until 2025.
At this stage, it seems unlikely that Tottenham will offer Forster a contract extension.
5. Alfie Whiteman
Alfie Whiteman is a Tottenham academy graduate living his dream to play for his boyhood club. However, it must be said that at this stage of his career, he should be fighting for more.
Whiteman, despite being in the first team since 2020, has not made a Premier League appearance. His contract runs out in 2025 and Spurs should be in no hurry to extend it.
6. Timo Werner (on loan)
Timo Werner is on loan at Tottenham, so naturally his contract expires in June 2025.
The Germany international has had some good performances in North London. So, whether Tottenham wish to sign him permanently remains to be seen.
