Tottenham Hotspur fans feel a close connection to the players, perhaps closer than it can be said for other Premier League fans.

Something which definitely helps with fan connection is transparency. This has certainly improved since Ange Postecoglou took charge at the club because fans now understand what the goals of the club are and, more importantly, how the manager hopes to work towards those goals.

It is widely documented that footballers earn tonnes of money. I don't think anybody's mouth would have opened in shock at that statement. Whether or not it is agreed with by many, it is a fact, particularly in the Premier League, the richest league in the world.

But, who is the highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur?

1. Son Heung-min (£190,000 per week)

The highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur is Son Heung-min. The South Korea international earns an impressive £190,000 per week, equating to a yearly salary of £9,880,000. Currently, Son does not earn bonuses at Tottenham.

Tottenham signed Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015. In just shy of a decade, the winger has emerged into a club legend, racking up over 300 Premier League appearances for Spurs.

Son Heung-min is mostly known for his incredible dribbling ability. In fact, when he is in his stride, it is almost impossible to pinch back the ball from him. It is an added bonus that he's a great goal-scorer who always wants to cut inside too.

Currently, Son Heung-min is under contract in North London until June 2025.

2. James Maddison (£170,000 per week)

The second highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur is James Maddison. The England midfielder earns a weekly wage of £170,000, which is a combined annual salary of £8,840,000. Currently, James Maddison earns no bonuses in his deal.

Tottenham Hotspur signed James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer of 2023, after the Foxes were relegated to the Championship. Maddison was an instant hit and considered by many as the signing of the 2023 summer transfer window.

Maddison is an influential midfielder who perfectly bridges the gap between midfield and attack. He carries the ball forward with purpose and has an excellent range of passing to implement his teammates into play.

As things stand, Maddison is contracted as a Tottenham player until June 2028.

3. Cristian Romero (£165,000 per week)

The third highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur is Cristian Romero. The Argentine centre-back earns £165,000 per week at Tottenham, so an annual total of £8,580,000. Romero does not earn any bonuses at Tottenham.

Cristian Romero joined Tottenham in 2022, after a successful loan spell from Atalanta. Since then, he has emerged into one of Tottenham's best players and a mainstay in the starting lineup.

The World Cup and two-time Copa America winner is known for his tenacious defending style. Let's just say, he isn't the type to wait for defenders to run at him before making a tackle.

Romero's current deal expires at Tottenham in June 2027.

4. Dejan Kulusevski (£110,000 per week)

The fourth highest paid player at Tottenham Hotspur is Dejan Kulusevski. Kulusevski earns £110,000 per week, which is an yearly amount of £5,720,000. In his current deal, Kulusevski does not earn any bonuses.

Spurs signed Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus in 2023, after a successful loan spell in the previous season. Kulusevski soon became a mainstay on the right-wing, and scored some important goals for Tottenham, making him a fan favourite.

As a right-footed winger who plays out on the left (while also having the versatility to play through the middle of attack), Kulusevski is unorthodox and difficult to predict, which works in Tottenham's favour.

Dejan Kulusevski is under contract at Tottenham until June 2028.

* Timo Werner earns more than Dejan Kulusevski, but this list does not include players on loan.

5. Richarlison (£90,000 per week)

The fifth highest earner at Tottenham is Richarlison. The Brazil international earns £90,000 per week at Tottenham, so £4,680,000 per year before bonuses. On top of this, Richarlison has potential to earn £2,080,000 per year in bonuses.

Richarlison was signed from Everton in 2022. While he had a difficult start to life at Tottenham, he eventually hit new heights in Ange Postecoglou's first season in charge.

Known for his impressive footwork and being involved in duels, Richarlison gradually became a fan favourite at Tottenham. While he isn't a starting lineup mainstay, he fulfils a valuable squad role.

Richarlison is tied to his current deal until June 2027.
