Tottenham find out Carabao Cup fourth-round opponents

Following the draw made upon the conclusion of Liverpool's tie against West Ham United, it has been confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur will play Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. in the fourth round of the 24/25 Carabao Cup.
Spurs left it late to beat Coventry City 2-1 in the previous round, after a poor performance and having trailed the game after 86 minutes, and it goes without saying that they will have to play ten times better in the next round if they are to stand a good chance of advancing to the fifth round of the competition.
The game will be a repeat of the heartbreaking 2021 Carabao Cup final, where Spurs fell to a second-half goal from Aymeric Laporte in a narrow defeat, in the first game of the post Jose Mourinho era. Safe to say a lot has changed since that day three and a half years ago.

Considering there were Championship sides left in the competition, such as Preston North End, Ashley Phillips' Stoke City, and Sheffield Wednesday, it feels a particularly bitter pill to swallow. Of course, Coventry showed that it is never easy to play a Championship side - but when the alternative is the best side in the country, and perhaps the world, it really is a big shame.
One saving grace for Spurs is that Rodri will not be available to play in this one, having picked up a serious knee injury in City's last game at the weekend.
Spurs do have a pretty good record against City of late, particularly at home, but did lose at home to Pep Guardiola's side in a domestic cup last season, as well as in the league. Though, not many people cared about losing that one.
The game will be played in the week commencing the 28th of October, in between Spurs' Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. With the Europa League tie against AZ Alkmaar before that, Spurs will have four consecutive games in London, with three of those at home.
