Gary Jacob, sports reporter for The Times has given Tottenham Hotspur fans an update on what to potentially expect over the next few weeks.

The first update is an incoming and outgoing which go hand in hand. Jacob reports that Spurs are growing “increasingly confident” of ending their search for a striker by securing the services of AFC Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

He says this deal would be funded by Richarlison’s exit to the Saudi Pro League, which Jacob now reports as an “expected” deal.

The Brazilian striker has now “changed his mind” about moving abroad, and is open to the move, according to the report.

This checks out with the recent report from Football Insider that Spurs are expecting to receive a “huge bid” from Saudi Arabia for Richarlison in the next few days, adding that Richarlison is “considering his options”.

Al-Alhi have shown an interest, where Richarlison would play with compatriot and former team-mate Roberto Firmino.

Spurs have also scouted Ivan Toney, Lois Openda, Viktor Gyokeres, Jonathan David, and Gift Orban before he left Gent for Lyon, as per the report.

Jacob says that Spurs, as well as Dominic Solanke, want to sign another winger as well as some cover at left-back

Spurs really struggled at left-back when Destiny Udogie was injured last season, and the defender hasn’t had a proper pre-season due to the said injury - so the requisite cover would be ideal.

The story that any possible move for Eberechi Eze is complicated due to Crystal Palace wanting the bulk of the £60m paid upfront was reaffirmed by Jacob.

Manor Solomon is expected to depart Spurs on loan this summer, per Jacob. Paul O Keefe says clubs in Germany and Spain are interested in a potential move.

If Spurs sell Richarlison and bring in Solanke - they may, or may not, have improved the starting XI but would not have improved the depth.

With another winger targeted, in theory, that could allow Son more opportunities to play through the middle. However, recent reports suggest Ange wants Son to play off the left this season.

That said, left-back cover and another winger would certainly improve the Spurs' squad and potentially starting XI, depending on who the potential winger is.
