Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou wants Heung Min-Son to play off the left this season
By Tom Vinall
According to Matt Law of The Daily Telegraph, Ange would like to deploy Son as a left-winger in the upcoming season.
He wants to do this by signing “an established striker”, as per Matt Law.
This suggests that Richarlison could be on his way out, or at least that Ange doesn’t fancy him enough over a new striker.
However, if Spurs are to sign a quote-on-quote established striker, one would imagine that it goes hand in hand with Richarlison leaving the club, in any case.
Son played a mix of games off the left and up front last season. He had good and bad games off the left and good and bad games up front.
Overall, though - Sonny is still probably more effective off the left-hand side, and there is no doubt that Son off the left and a new striker up front is a preferred option to Son up front and Timo Werner off the left.

If a new striker doesn’t come in, Son may end up having to play as the number 9 next season. Richarlison would probably stay if no new 9 is signed but can’t always be relied on fitness-wise.
If Richarlison is unavailable, and no new striker is signed, it leaves Ange with precious little option up top. He could put real trust into Mikey Moore, but that feels early.
Dejan Kulusevski has impressed as a 9 in pre-season, and could be an option at times - though would leave Spurs shortchanged off the right.
Alejo Veliz has been an unused sub for the last three friendlies in pre-season, so we can probably rule out any chance of him leading the line from the start of next season.
Werner has played up front several times in his career, so in theory, he could play as the 9 and Son from the left. However, his general game probably is not good enough to be the focal point of Ange Postecoglou's side.
Whatever happens, Spurs need to get any potential incomings in sooner rather than later.
