It is the first game of the 2024/25 season and Ange Posetcoglou needs to no reminding about the importance of getting the best possible start to the season, particularly considering their top four aspirations this season.
Considering the necessary team news heading into this match, Ange Postecoglou has the benefit of fielding a strong starting lineup. After all, Leicester City have had a horrid pre-season and the new manager Steve Cooper has an injury crisis to contend with, so Spurs are the clear favourites here.
However, a win is only possible with a strong lineup. Therefore, here are 3 non-negotiable starters for Tottenham away at Leicester City...

1. Dominic Solanke
Make no mistake about it, listing a potential debutant as a "non-negotiable starter" is not jumping the gun. In fact, Ange Postecoglou would not have signed Dominic Solanke for a club-record fee if he did not see him as able to play in games as important as this.
Dominic Solanke has not yet played a game for Tottenham, but his quality is undeniable and he will be chasing the Premier League golden boot again this season. It is worth noting that he almost had a full pre-season with Bournemouth before joining Tottenham, so he is match fit and prepared to play in the Premier League opener.
Tottenham Hotspur were crying out for a signing such as Dominic Solanke for the longest time. They signed him just in time for the Premier League opener, with Ange Postecoglou having every plan to hand him his debut. In my opinion, he simply must start the game from the off-set.
2. Cristian Romero
Leicester City are without their two strongest strikers for this match, but this shouldn't lead Tottenham into a false complacency. In fact, this should only encourage Ange Postecoglou to start his strongest possible defence, handing them a real confidence boost to start the season in the right way.
Cristian Romero remained at Tottenham throughout the summer transfer window (so far), even despite concrete links to Real Madrid. In fairness, the Copa America winner never showed any desire to push for a move away, emphasising his commitment to Tottenham. As one of the best defenders in the league, Romero will hope to improve Tottenham's defensive record from last season.
3. Son Heung-Min
Son Heung-Min was the top goal-scorer in the Premier League for Tottenham last season. He stepped up to the mark well and replaced Harry Kane to the best of his ability. However, nobody will be gladder that Solanke was signed than Son, since he can now return to his strongest position.
Son will start for Spurs in the Premier League opener against Leicester City, after a good pre-season. He will be his usual self, and while not wanting to take the limelight away from the new signing, is always a threat in the final third.
