In the early kick off on Saturday afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur faced West Ham United at home, as they looked to bounce back from the defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

For this game, Ange opted for a line up of; Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son.

After six minutes, Spurs won the ball back from a high press, with Johnson cutting a half volley across goal and wide of Alphonse Areola's goal.

Five minutes later, a superb cutback from Jarrod Bowen, as a right footed strike from Mohammed Kudus forced a reflex save from Vicario - fortunately for Spurs, it was quite a central effort.

Around a quarter of an hour into the game, a Son body feint sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka, before cutting inside and curling just wide of the far post.

Just a few minutes later, and dangerman Kudus would have a goal, smashing home with a right-footed shot 10 yards. Johnson could have picked him up better at the far post, and there is little doubt that Ange will have mentioned that to him.

In the early stages, Ange Postecoglu’s side were having all of the ball but West Ham’s very solid defensive shape meant most of the possession was in vain. When West Ham did have the ball, they were moving it with more fluidity and more movement.

28 minutes in, Spurs had their best chance. A ball in from the left towards Johnson, around six yards out did not manage to be diverted in, with the last touch coming off a West Ham player.

Just over 10 minutes before the break, a deflected shot from Porro forced a save from Areola, who kept the ball in his grasp at the second attempt.

Only two minutes later, a Spurs transition lead to a Maddison carry through the middle of the pitch, before finding Kulusevski who cut inside and fired it in off both posts. The Swedish international continues his electric start to the 24/25 season for club and country.

Two minutes before half-time, an Udogie ball towards the back post was met by Porro mid air, as he stabbed a shot off target. With the final attack of the half, a Romero ball over the top found Son, but his ball across the six yard box could not be found by a team mate, and the sides went into the break at 1-1.

Despite the equaliser, Ange was not happy with what he saw in the first half, and introduced Sarr for Maddison at half-time.

Seven minutes into the second half, an outside foot pass from Son found Udogie in the box, who instead of flashing the ball across goal, had to composure to turn and lay the ball off to Bissouma, who fired in a shot through some bodies to the back of the net.

Barely two minutes later, and it was three. A free flowing Spurs move resulted in a Son shot being saved but deflecting off Todibo into the back of the net for an own goal.

Minutes after that, Son would have a goal for himself. Once again West Ham lose the ball, and a raking long ball from Sarr found one-on-one with Todibo. The captain found some space on the outside, and fired a left-footed strike inside the near post to make it 4-1 to Spurs.

Only moments later, the captain hit the post when well placed to make it 5-1. Straight down the other end, Udogie made a goal line clearance to deny Kudus making it two for him and two for West Ham.

With twenty minutes remaining, Timo Werner replaced Son, as Romero took the armband. A bit frustrating not to have seen those minutes given to Mikey Moore.

With around 10 minutes of normal time remaining, Richarlison and Bentancur replaced Bissouma and Solanke. Not long after, there were some off the ball handbags between Kudus and van de Ven, which lead to the Ghanaian forward being sent off.

Soon after, Gray would replace Udogie as Ange's side comfortably saw the game out to get back to winning ways. This result makes it six wins from the last seven games in all competitions.
