Tottenham Hotspur's Dejan Kulusevski has enjoyed a superb start to the 24/25 season, starring in a midfield role, with Kulusevski himself admitting that it is his preferred position after the win against Manchester United.

That aforementioned win saw the 24-year old create nine chances, breaking a 13-year previous record of seven chances created by an opposition player. Three of those nine chances created were big chances. That too with a goal to go with it.

Even in a more advanced role, Kulusevski has continued this form with his country, with a number of people in Sweden saying he was "by far their best player" in the 2-2 draw with Slovakia earlier this week.

During this break, the Spurs man has revealed the advice that Cristiano Ronaldo gave him during their time together in Turin at Juventus. The two played together in the 2020/21 lockdown season.

Speaking to Swedish publication Fotbollskanalen, Kulusevski said: "I’m getting to know my body. When I was younger, I didn’t understand when Ronaldo told me: ‘You will get to know your body’. Because I didn’t know my body then.

But now I’m starting to understand my strengths and weaknesses, how I can improve. So I feel like everything is getting easier.”

There is no doubt that it feels like Kulusevski has improved in certain areas. He always showed what he is capable of in spells, but lacked the consistency. In the aforementioned interview where he says midfield is his preferred position, he says about how he has improved defensively, which is of course key in this new role that he has been playing in so far this season.

At 24, where the Swedish international is no longer considered a young player, it feels like a good time in his career to put all of the good things he has done so far, together, and add that consistency and maturity as he begins to slowly come towards his prime years.
