After weeks of speculation, Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced Marcos Senesi as their second signing of the summer transfer window from Bournemouth.

In a social media post, club legend Ossie Ardiles unveiled the signing, welcoming his compatriot to the club.

"I still love to see an Argentinian in England. It makes me proud. But when they represent Spurs? Wow, this is even better."
Ossie Ardiles

Ardiles' pride must have reached new heights this week, as Senesi is set to become the 11th Argentinian to play for the club, thus completing the all-time Argentinian Tottenham Hotspur XI.

Conveniently, each player can slot into a familiar position, although we have had to go with more of a Conte 5-2-3 than a Pochettino 4-2-3-1.

Goalkeeper and Back Five

GK: Paolo Gazaniga
Gazaniga got a number of opportunities to deputise for club captain Hugo Lloris during his time at the club. Standout moments in a Spurs jersey include a vital stop against PSV at Wembley en route to the Champions League Final in 2019.

RB: Juan Foyth
Foyth's Spurs career never hit the heights of his heroic winner against Palace in 2018. He did, however, go on to win a Europa League medal of his own in the 2020/21 season with current club Villarreal. He was also part of the World Cup-winning national team in 2022 and is unlucky to miss out this summer through injury.

RCB: Cristian Romero
With his future up in the air, Romero has been a divisive character during his Tottenham tenure. "Cuti" was, however, a vital cog in the Europa League-winning machine and should be remembered as such.

CB: Federico Fazio
Fazio's Spurs career never got off the ground. Remembered for spending a lot of time on the ground wrestling with Chelsea's Diego Costa, however, in an effective 2015 cameo that helped Spurs to a 5-3 victory.

LCB: Marcos Senesi
Has enjoyed life at the Vitality Stadium with Bournemouth. A solid defender with progressive ball-playing abilities, many Spurs fans are already claiming Senesi's free transfer a shrewd bit of business, and will be keenly watching the World Cup given his late call-up this week.

LB: Mauricio Taricco:
The consistent Taricco made over 150 appearances for the club from 1998 until 2004. While at Spurs, he formed a bond with Gus Poyet, with whom he would work at Brighton.

Midfield Two

CM: Ossie Ardiles
Tottenham shocked the world in 1978 when they signed Ossie Ardiles and Rickey Villa, fresh from winning the World Cup with Argentina. With his compatriot, Ardiles became a club legend, winning the FA Cup in 1981 before returning to the side that won the UEFA Cup in 1984. Add to that a managerial spell in 1993, it's no surprise Ossie is celebrated as one of the club's greats and still serves as an ambassador.

CM: Giovani Lo Celso
While seemingly struggling to adapt to life in England, Giovani Lo Celso often showed glimpses of the talent he clearly had. Scored some big goals against the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Front Three

RW: Lamela
A cult hero with a ridiculous goal catalogue, including two rabonas. Lamela recently returned to N17 and met the fans for the first time since leaving Now coaching with

LW: Villa
Arrived with Ardiles after World Cup glory in 1978, Villa typified the Argentine flair and often excited the crowds at White Hart Lane. Fans of a certain vintage will remember his winning goal in the cup final in 1981, often regarded as the best goal in FA Cup Final history.

ST: Alejo Veliz
Signed from Rosario, relatively unknown, Veliz failed to make an impact at Spurs. The striker will hope to resurrect his career in Brazil as he finalises a permanent transfer this summer.

While this side may struggle with squad depth, perhaps Mauricio Pochettino and his son Maurizio, who spent time with the club's youth setup, may be able to fill in. Or perhaps we could bend the rules a little and include testimonial players?
