All the signs are pointing towards a new-look Tottenham team next season. Spurs are bound to undergo a serious transitional period, with Europa League winner Ange Postecoglou AND club legend Son Heung-min leaving the club after last season.
Despite the European success last time out, the writing was on the wall for a long time at Tottenham. There needed to be new life injected into the club, and key departures will instil the push for that new life.
And look, Thomas Frank is in charge now. He'll be helped on the pitch by new club captain Cristian Romero, but he'll want to make a few new signings before the summer transfer window ends.
Tottenham is believed to be working on separate deals for Eberechi Eze and Savinho, both players from Premier League rivals.
Speaking of Premier League rivals, Tottenham seem close to adding an entirely new dynamic to their rivalry with Arsenal...
Eberechi Eze now wants Tottenham move "ASAP"
According to a recent update from Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham remain in talks to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. The player has already said yes to playing for Tottenham, and he's keen to make his move "ASAP," looking like this month.
In his own words, Romano said: Eberechi Eze has informed Crystal Palace earlier this week about his desire to join Tottenham. Talks are progressing as Eze already said yes to the Spurs project, ready to make his move this month. Nothing done yet, but Eze hopes for the move ASAP."
Arsenal has also shown an interest in Eberechi Eze this summer, but much to the delight of Tottenham fans, Eze seems keen on moving to Hotspur Way instead.
Eze is a remarkable playmaker, and one who could easily fill the void left behind by James Maddison's injury. With both Maddison (injured) and Son (left) out of the Tottenham picture, Spurs need to sign a player with a proven track record of creating chances.
As luck would have it, this is Eze's speciality. Eze made eight Premier League assists last season, which is one less than Son Heung-min but one more than James Maddison.
Earlier this week, Romano said that the Eze deal is separate to that of Savinho, which also took a major twist today. So, there is every likelihood that Tottenham could end up with both Savinho and Eze, which would fix their creative dilemma and then some.
