Tottenham have emerged from the doldrums and are ready to appease the fanbase with two hugely exciting attacking signings.

A new era beckons in N17, with the departure of Son Heung-min putting to rest a decade-long chapter during which we became so utterly reliant on the South Korean's remarkable final third efficiency.

Thomas Frank has sought to rejuvenate his frontline via the addition of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, while Mathys Tel was signed permanently from Bayern Munich. There are high hopes that the 20-year-old Frenchman could blossom into something special in north London, but Spurs would undoubtedly be taking a risk by gambling on Tel's potential during Frank's first season at the helm.

There's a sense that this team requires the ready-made, especially after James Maddison succumbed to an ACL rupture in Seoul. Killing two birds with one stone is the ideal, and Spurs are aiming to do that by reigniting their interest in a former flame.

Eberechi Eze "keen" to join Tottenham – deal separate to Savinho

Much of the transfer discourse surrounding Spurs at the start of the window focused on Eberechi Eze, who seemed poised to finally join the club following years of interest. However, after pivoting to Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White, bitter rivals Arsenal emerged as the frontrunners for Eze's signature.

The versatile playmaker is ready to take the next step in his career and soak up the Champions League anthem for the very first time. The deal was there to be made for Arsenal (and may still be), but the Gunners are yet to reach an agreement with Crystal Palace, who are more open to parting ways than ever before.

Spurs, for a period of time, were out of Eze contention. Maddison's injury, though, has sucked them back in. We learned on Sunday that Manchester City's Savinho is a top target, with several reports adding that a new No. 10 remained of interest, too.

Leicester's Bilal El Khannouss has been touted as a potential option, but it seems as if Eze has returned to the forefront of our thinking once more. Spurs insider Paul O'Keefe revealed in the early hours of Tuesday morning that talks have been held with Palace over a deal, while Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Eze is "keen" on joining the club.

The Italian reports that the player's release clause, which is believed to be around £60m, has expired, but others have suggested it remains active until Saturday.

The potential deal reportedly doesn't have any bearing on our Savinho pursuit.
