It is clear that not hiring a coach yet has impacted the fans but are missing a coach and Fabio Paratici not yet starting actually hurting Tottenham Hotspur?

It has been a painful summer for Tottenham Hotspur fans as the club seems to be chasing its own tail in pursuit of a new manager. Likewise, with Fabio Paratici announced over a fortnight ago but still not yet acting as the Director of Football at Spurs, it is fair to ask if the club is falling behind. Of course, to know if the Lilywhites are behind the curve, we need to know what has been done.

Tottenham Summer Transfers 2021

To date, Tottenham has been relatively quiet in the summer market although not completely stationary. Tottenham has moved three senior players on from the squad with Paulo Gazzaniga and Danny Rose both leaving on a free transfer. Rose has signed with Watford, Gazzaniga is still searching for a new team.

Juan Foyth is the third player to have moved on from N17 after Villareal activated the purchase clause in the Argentine’s contract. Unlike Rose and Gazzaniga who bring no money back to the club, Foyth’s option was worth a reported $16.5 million (£11.9 million). With the funds from the Foyth deal, Tottenham does at least have a positive balance sheet as the club has yet to exercise the option to buy any new players.

The Spurs have been linked with a number of players and certainly have some other players fans would just like to see but the team has not pulled the trigger on any official deals. However, Tottenham is certainly not alone in being quiet thus far in the transfer market.
