As one of the most important summers in recent memory is set to begin for Tottenham Hotspur, we examine what we can expect during the 2021 transfer window.

Logistics on the Summer 2021 Transfer Window

The summer transfer window is open; it opened at midnight London time on June 9. Although as I sit here typing it is still June 8th and everything is supposed to start for me tomorrow. Much like Tottenham, the timing is too soon for the start of the window.

The market will remain open for nearly 12 weeks until 11 pm London time on August 31. The Premier League season will be well underway by then, starting August 14. Additionally, the UEFA Conference League will be underway for Tottenham Hotspur, with Spurs set to start in the playoff with the first leg slated for August 19 and the second leg on August 26.

In other words, we will not know officially if Tottenham will be playing weekly in European competition until August 26, so expect things to be held late for Spurs, per the norm in terms of major investments. Even at the third tier that UEFA money is important for constructing a team.

Besides slow movement, what can we expect from the Spurs in the transfer market?
