Swansea City Preparing to Sign Tottenham’s Nacer Chadli
The impending arrival of Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, could mean the departure of Nacer Chadli with Swansea City looking to sign the Tottenham winger.
Tottenham have yet to announce Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, after he already passed his medical, but it’s to be expected that a winger could be sold this summer to make room for the French Under-21 international.
Though it looks like the one who will be leaving first might be Nacer Chadli, rather than Clinton N’Jie, based on a report by the Mirror.

According to the Mirror, Swansea City have identified the 26-year-old Belgian international as a person of interest. It’s unknown whether Francesco Guidolin intends to go through with a bid, but if the link above is to be believed, the Swans will have to pay £15 million.
That is Tottenham’s value for Nacer Chadli, which is double of what they originally paid three years ago from FC Twente (£7 million).
The price tag isn’t actually too far off from what he has accomplished in three seasons: 25 goals and 16 assists in 119 appearances. But it could be a bit better to justify his current value after one very good year, one solid season and a transitional campaign.
The 2013-14 season was Chadli’s first year in the Premier League, so there was going to be a learning curve from the get-go. His second season was his best after becoming a starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s debut campaign as Tottenham manager and having a year of Premiership football under his belt.
Last year, suffering an ankle injury and having Christian Eriksen take his spot due to Dele Alli’s importance to the team meant Chadli finished the year as a substitute. But despite being second on the depth chart at left midfield, the 26-year-old still had a solid campaign.
If Tottenham were to keep the Belgian winger, it would be based on what he could do as a bench player as opposed to being a starter, with Eriksen being Pochettino’s first-choice left midfielder and N’Koudou’s imminent arrival.
While Nacer Chadli had a solid season this past year, with seven goals and five assists, he did most of his damage after the New Year. Which came after he was fully recovered from an ankle injury suffered against Liverpool on October 17.
From January 10th through February 28th, Chadli who started in every other competition besides the Premier League (where he would come in as a substitute) hit some solid form.

He would go on to score six goals and pick up three assists in a month-and-a-half of action. Those numbers makes the 26-year-old a valuable commodity as a rotational player.
In essence, if Mauricio Pochettino wants some impact players on his bench, Chadli is one option who has spent the past two seasons being fully integrated in the Argentine’s system.
At only £7 million, Tottenham didn’t spend a whole lot of money on the winger which could be one reason why he has remained on this team ever since.
Then again, if Swansea City wants to make Nacer Chadli their record signing, there should be no reason why Tottenham would be hesitant on sanctioning a move if Swansea came calling.
Receiving £15 million from one sale would help out after £28 million was used to sign Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen. As soon as Georges-Kévin N’Koudou is signed, Spurs will have spent £38.8 million. By selling a player or two, it will help balance out their books.

Spurs need to add some depth, but losing Chadli wouldn’t be a bad trade-off if Georges-Kévin N’Koudou would be coming into this team. His age, pace, offensive and defensive abilities makes Nacer Chadli surplus to requirements.
Conversely, if both Chadli and N’Jie are able to remain on the team then this gives Mauricio Pochettino four wingers to help rotate this season. And that wouldn’t be bad either.
