Tottenham Hotspur Links: 10/26/15 Evening Edition

Here’s your evening edition of Tottenham Hotspur’s daily links.

If you were expecting a lot of reading to do, then you’ll be sadly disappointed — unless you weren’t, then that’s good news for you. Once again, due to the morning edition having the majority of the news because it was delayed until 12 noon (or rather past noontime) the afternoon and evening editions are a little bit thin in news.

Now you’re probably asking yourself why even write an article? Well the answer is because there are always stories coming out regarding Tottenham in almost anything. One could be about a quirky reason as to why Spurs did so well on Sunday against A.F.C. Bournemouth. Or another could be about an old transfer rumor that is being rehashed once again, because the January transfer window is approaching in two months time. In fact, these are the news links down below, so enjoy.

Harry Kane explains why Tottenham did well against Bournemouth [via Mirror]

It’s not uncommon to see teams flying to their destinations. It is a faster way to travel from one place to another. Taking a bus and driving to Bournemouth from Tottenham, is just two hours and twenty minutes. Not too long. Traffic included, the total trip could take at least three hours by pure guess work. So how long does it take to fly to Bournemouth? According to Harry Kane, it’s probably a twenty minute flight.

Kane makes sure to drop hints that the team were able to eat their food, chill out and get an early sleep. But more importantly, it helps with recovery.

As Harry Kane puts it, ‘You get back quicker, get home, get good food into you and that is important. The more the club can do to help the players recover, the better it is.’ Flights will obviously need to happen for Spurs’ Europa League matches. But if flying all over the UK will help the team in any way possible, it should happen more often. The results won’t be as eye-popping as a 5-1 victory, but it’s worth trying.

Tottenham “leading the race” for Birmingham City winger, Demarai Gray [via HITC]

An old transfer rumor is back and re-branded as “new”. Back on January 10, 2015 the Mirror reported that Liverpool and Tottenham were interested in Demarai Gray the, then, 18-year-old Birmingham City winger. With the transfer window open this past winter, no move actually happened for Tottenham to sign the young talent. Instead DeAndre Yedlin and Dele Alli would be players who were signed (Yedlin would actually arrive to the team following his loan deal with MLS side Seattle Sounders FC expiring.)

Now according to HITC which is linking to the Sun (which is a paid subscription newsletter) Tottenham are allegedly leading the race for the, now, 19-year-old winger from Birmingham City.

There is no limit to how young Mauricio Pochettino and Paul Mitchell will be on the lookout for talented prospects. The only thing that looks certain based on their transfers, is that no one has been signed over the age of 27.

Spurs were looking at Anthony Martial and Timo Werner who were both 19, so adding Demarai Gray isn’t a surprise. Gray’s addition would most likely mean the end of Andros Townsend’s tenure with Tottenham. It’ll also give Spurs another talented midfielder who has creativity with the ball. Which will only boost Mauricio Pochettino’s offense to newer heights — if this signing happens of course.
