Tottenham Hotspur Links: 10/26/15 Afternoon Edition

There’s not a lot of afternoon news involving Tottenham.

There’s only two major links in this first ever afternoon edition for the daily links post. Why? Because the morning article which was posted earlier today had everything that would have made gone into this current article. Now that won’t happen, because it’s too late, so we’re moving on! Here’s the latest news for some quick browsing.

Jan Vertonghen hails ‘strong’ display at Bournemouth [via Tottenham Hotspur’s official site]

A total team effort by Tottenham from goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, to the entire backline, the midfielders and striker Harry Kane. As Jan Vertonghen puts it “we feel like a team out there and that’s a good thing going forward”. It’s hard not to stop talking about Tottenham’s win over Bournemouth since they were able to see a couple of good things that happened in one game. The team responding after conceding an early goal, Harry Kane’s hat-trick, Mousa Dembélé scoring and Ryan Mason’s return to the squad.

Continuing on from Vertonghen’s interview, the Belgian center-back said that it was better to concede a goal early in the game rather than before half-time or at the end of the game. This is the preferred choice obviously, for teams if they had a choice. But teams don’t just give out goals so that opponents will decide to hold onto a slim lead.

It’s not an ideal situation to be down early in the first minute, but what Jan Vertonghen says isn’t outrageous so to speak. Had Bournemouth scored on the stroke of half-time, they would come out with momentum for the second half. Likewise, had the Cherries scored near the end, assuming if Tottenham were winning, they would draw once more and miss out on a golden chance to claim a win and three points like their games against Stoke City and AS Monaco.

Rangers are taking questions about Spurs loanee Dominic Ball [via Rangers’ official site]

This isn’t really a story, but it is a good chance to interact with center-back Dominic Ball who is currently on a season-long loan with Rangers in the Scottish Championship. Why is this non-story, a supposed story? For the simple fact that Tottenham supporters, if you want to, could ask him any questions. An Ask Me Anything type of thing that’s done on Reddit with celebrities. Consider this the same thing.

More from EPL News

You could ask him anything which, Rangers’ official site goes into details like ‘Who was his footballing hero growing up?’, ‘Did he always want to be a footballer?’ and ‘If he didn’t want to be a footballer, what did he want to be growing up?’.

Those are just starter questions if you want to reach out and ask Dominic Ball any questions. Your three preferred choices of reaching Rangers are 1.) to tweet at Rangers’ official Twitter account with your question and use the hashtag #OnTheSpot. 2.) email Rangers which is editor@rangers.co.uk and 3.) by posting on Rangers’ Facebook page, either on their wall or through a message: Rangers’ official Facebook page.

All in all, this is mostly designed for supporters of Rangers, but the link above from Rangers’ official site, makes sure to welcome fans of other clubs who want to ask the team questions regarding players that are on loan with the Gers. It’s a nice gesture for people who can’t watch the team on TV, let alone watch their games live in person. Social media is a good platform for these kinds of things.
