In the ever-competitive world of football transfers, Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Georgiy Sudakov, Shakhtar Donetsk's creative midfielder.

The 22-year-old has been turning heads in Ukrainian football with his vision, passing accuracy, and ability to control games.

According to The Spurs Web, Tottenham have reportedly dispatched scouts to evaluate Sudakov, hinting at a strong interest in adding the young talent to their ranks.

Sudakov is no stranger to ambition. In a recent interview, he expressed his dream of playing in top European leagues, with the Premier League and La Liga emerging as his preferred destinations.

However, Tottenham face a tough battle for his signature, with Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City also monitoring the Ukrainian international according to TBR Football.

Despite the competition, Spurs might have an edge thanks to Sudakov’s desire to test himself in England’s high-paced, physical football.

With a potential January transfer window heating up, Tottenham’s ability to act swiftly could be the key to securing the deal.

Describing his own playing style, Sudakov revealed he draws inspiration from legends like Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric, and Kevin De Bruyne.

“I think my style is better suited to Spain or England. La Liga values technical skills, while the Premier League would help me improve physically and tactically," he stated to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

His focus on improving finishing and fitness showcases his dedication to becoming a more versatile player, a quality Tottenham would surely welcome.

A transfer that might fall through

Sudakov’s agent, Vadim Shabliy, who previously managed Mykhaylo Mudryk’s high-profile move to Chelsea, added fuel to the speculation.

Speaking to The Standard, Shabliy confirmed Sudakov’s readiness for a big move. “Georgiy is a player with a great future. He, like most footballers, wants to try his hand at the top championships.

“We, Shakhtar and the player are open to offers. And that means there is a high probability that we will soon be able to see Georgiy in the top leagues.”

Here are Sudakov’s statistics for the 2024/2025 season:

If Spurs can secure Sudakov, it would signal their commitment to investing in young, dynamic talent.
