Tottenham Hotspur, always on the hunt for the next big thing, have seen their summer transfer window take an unexpected turn.

After being heavily linked with high-profile names like Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho and Lyon's promising youngster Rayan Cherki, the North London club find themselves pivoting their focus to a more surprising target.

Now, Spurs have been linked with a move for a promising young striker in the Championship, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options following the failed pursuit of highly-rated French forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The North London side has been active in the transfer market this summer, with their name linked to a number of high-profile targets.

However, their pursuit of Kolo Muani, who has been in impressive form for Eintracht Frankfurt, appears to have hit a roadblock.

With Juventus swooping in to secure the Frenchman’s signature, Tottenham have been forced to turn their attention elsewhere.

According to reports from Fichajes.net, Tottenham have set their sights on West Bromwich Albion’s Josh Maja as a potential alternative.

The Nigerian striker has been in excellent form for the Baggies this season, catching the eye of several Premier League clubs with his impressive goal-scoring record.

Maja has netted 12 goals in 26 Championship appearances this season, showcasing his ability to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reportedly impressed by the striker’s instincts in front of goal.

How much will Maja cost?

With West Brom currently pushing for promotion to the Premier League, they are likely to be reluctant to lose one of their key players in the middle of the season.

However, with Maja’s contract situation and the significant interest from Premier League clubs, a deal could potentially be struck if the right offer is made.

Fichajes reports that Maja’s value is estimated at around £15 million, making him a relatively affordable option for both Tottenham and Chelsea, who are also said to be interested in the striker.
