Tottenham insider Paul O'Keefe has revealed that the club is targeting Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to continue to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.

Spurs were previously linked to the forward two years ago when he was playing in Ligue 2 with Lorient, and the young French forward's stock has risen following a stellar first season in the Premier League.

His 13 goals broke the record for most goals scored by a teenager in their debut season, a record previously co-held by former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane. An exciting young Premier League-proven talent, Kroupi would be a welcome addition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Three Spurs players, however, would be more intrigued than the rest.

The unlikely Senesi/Kroupi attacking partnership

Kroupi and his Bournemouth teammates, including the Spurs-bound Marcos Senesi, made history last season, guiding the Cherries to a ninth-placed finish and European football for the first time. Senesi is sure to relish the opportunity of working with Kroupi again as the pair struck up an excellent on-field relationship.

Though playing at opposite ends of the pitch, Senesi and Kroupi combined for an unlikely number of goals last term. Five assists in a season is impressive for any centre back, but for three of those to be goals that Kroupi finished would indicate that the pair have struck up an impressive understanding in their short time working together.

Of those three Senesi-assisted Kroupi goals, one came in January's 3-2 win over Spurs. If we were to follow Fantasy Premier League rules, Senesi would be credited with a fourth assist for Kroupi, as the young Frenchman dispatched a penalty against Crystal Palace in May after the Argentine was taken down in the box.

A chance to resume this connection would make the move easier for both Senesi and Kroupi, both in the dressing room and on the pitch as they look to contribute to a Spurs squad that needs to hit the ground running if they are to right the wrongs of last year's 17th-placed Premier League finish.

The Young French Connection

Despite strong interest from Roberto Martinez and Portugal, Kroupi has pledged his international allegiance to his native France, with whom he has played at underage from U15 to U21 level.

It's with the national U21 side that the 20-year-old is starting to form a formidable partnership with two of Tottenham's most exciting young attacking talents, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert. So far in the qualifiers for the U21 European Championships next summer, the trio has combined for 11 of the 21 goals scored by France.

The prospect of working with their compatriot and national teammate is sure to be a major cause for excitement for both Tel and Odobert. Tel is looking to build on a solid end to last year, while Odobert continues his rehab for an ACL injury that he suffered back in February.

After strengthening in defence and midfield arrivals apparently imminent, it's crucial that Tottenham now add to a misfiring attacking department that is lacking in depth. Given his impressive return last year, the signature of Junior Kroupi will be a hard one to pull off, but it might be worth reaching into the pocket for as the player clearly has chemistry with some Spurs stars already.
