Two former Tottenham players could yet have a big say on Arsenal's season. It has been a torrid campaign for Spurs, but they now look as though they could scrap their way to safety, with Roberto De Zerbi offering a much-needed change of pace and atmosphere over recent weeks.

The job is far from done, but there is now hope, and that hope was absent for much of the season. Even if safety is confirmed, there is little joy to take from this season for Spurs fans, so an Arsenal collapse might be the best they can ask for, and two former players can help pull off the job.

Arsenal's equation when it comes to winning the Premier League title is simple. If they win their lasty two games, they will be champions, and they can add a Champions League title to that if they can beat PSG shortly after.

Anything less, and they will likely find themselves racing with Manchester City to the finish, with Arsenal currently on course to finish two points above City, but if the Gunners slip up, City may have the title in their own hands.

Ex-Tottenham boys could spoil Arsenal's party

The positive for Arsenal is that they face already relegated Burnley next, and they will then take on Crystal Palace on the last day of the season, with the Eagles having nothing to play for beyond giving their home fans a good send-off to the summer, and indeed giving Oliver Glasner a good send off from the club.

But there are two former Tottenham players who may have ulterior motives. Former Spurs favourite Kyle Walker will have plenty to play for, likely wanting to deny Arsenal both owing to his Spurs background and the fact he is a legend at Manchester City, a team he can help win the title even after his time at the Etihad Stadium.

And when it comes to Palace, former Spurs man Brennan Johnson, who scored the Europa League-winning goal last season, can help kill Arsenal's title race at the very last hurdle, on the last day of the season.

Those are interesting wrinkles to the final weeks of the title race, and Spurs will be hoping those heroes of yesteryear can prove heroes in a very different way, as will Manchester City, who have some tough games to overcome to even force Arsenal to win those last two games.

City play Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth, games they know they likely have to win, and they also have the FA Cup final during that run, facing Chelsea at Wembley.
