Tottenham now have an obvious Wilson Odobert decision to make

There is only one thing to do.

Tottenham Hotspur are dangerously thin on the wings this winter, as an injury to Mohammed Kudus until the March international break has now left Spurs without a single healthy right winger in the squad. And they were already in need on a new left winger even before the Kudus injury, with only youngsters Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel in the squad at the position.

So overall, Odobert and Tel are the only true wingers left for Tottenham, and there are no indications that Spurs are seriously after a winger. Oscar Bobb and Maghnes Akliouche have been loosely linked, but there are literally no concrete, credible reports indicating that Spurs have made an offer for either. And Omar Marmoush and Antoine Semenyo have already rejected Spurs with Savinho too injured to move.

As Tottenham do their best to convince an increasingly irate Mathys Tel to stay - and the obvious answer to keeping him is to, you know, actually play him - so as to not lose their best left winger, Spurs may have found their best right winger in the mean time while Dejan Kulusevski and Kudus recover from serious injuries.

Wilson Odobert is the answer

Wilson Odobert has been starting on the right wing since Kudus's latest injury, and he has been playing pretty well overall. But it was not until the must win game against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League in which the young Frenchman truly blossomed.

He was the best player on the pitch, even above a very strong Xavi Simons in midfield, dazzling with two assists and more than a few chances created and dribbles completed. It was a perfect, classic winger's performance from Odobert, who has flashed potential all season long but had yet to put it all together until the Champions League night against the second best team in Germany.

With that display, Tottenham Hotspur supporters are now seriously wondering if Odobert is even better on the right wing than he is on the left or even as a No. 10. There was something about watching Odobert navigate on the right as a playmaker, sending in passes and crosses while dropping his shoulder to accelerate past defenders, putting them on skates.

Regardless of which side of the formation Odobert is better on, the fact of the matter is that with Kulu and Kudus down for the count, he is 100 percent obviously their best right winger now. And Tottenham need to make him the regular starter on the right wing until one of those two experienced players returns. Even after they come back, Odobert may have just bought himself more minutes on the right flank, too.
