This midweek, once again, there are a few games for Spurs loanees. Let’s take a look at how it is all shaping up.

In the Championship, there are games for both Ashley Phillips’ Stoke City, and Dane Scarlett’s Oxford United. First up, Phillips and his side travel to Luton Town on Tuesday evening, for a 19:45 GMT kick off. On Wednesday night, Scarlett and his team mates will travel to London to face Queens Park Rangers, for another 19:45 GMT kick off.

How the midweek fixtures are looking for Tottenham loanees

It was a disappointing result last time out for the Potters, falling to a late 2-1 defeat against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, just as it looked like they were going to hold on for a hard fought point. As for Oxford, they come into this game fresher than their hosts, with their trip to Plymouth Argyle last weekend called off due to the horrific weather conditions.

On the continent, there is a big game for Bryan Gil and Girona, as they face high flying Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening. Arne Slot’s side are the only team to have won all five of their games in the competition so far this season.

The Spanish side will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Real Madrid last weekend. As impressive as a draw would be in isolation for this game, they really need more, if they are to qualify for the play-off spot, as they currently sit in 30th place with three points from their five games so far.

Their two games in the new year to finish off the league format are against AC Milan and Arsenal, so they have been dealt quite a tough hand to finish the campaign. The defeat to Austrian strugglers Sturm Gratz felt costly at the time, and it is proving to be that way.

In any case, game is one of the earlier Champions League kicks off on Tuesday, with the ball set to start rolling at 17:45 GMT, live on TNT Sports for those in the UK.

This week is a seemingly rare week off for those Spurs loanees playing in League One and Two. Last weekend, we saw Josh Keeley cap off a perfect seven days, as he registered an assist and clean sheet in Leyton Orient’s 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
