It only took two years for this Tottenham legend to haunt Chelsea in their sleep

Tonight, Bayern Munich hosted Chelsea at the Allianz Arena. Tottenham knows how difficult that ground is to visit, and they also know plenty about the Bavarian team's most important player at the moment.

If there's one thing we can guarantee about Harry Kane, it's that he will score goals.

The England international remains one of the best strikers in the world, and we seriously need to have a conversation about where he ranks among the all-time England center forwards.

Anyway, that's a topic for a rainy day. Today isn't a rainy day, unless you're wearing Chelsea blue, that is.

Tottenham legend Harry Kane just haunted Chelsea yet again

The Blues marked their return to the Champions League in the worst possible way. Enzo Maresca's team was arguably the better side for a large chunk of that game, but the defense broke rule number one: they gave Harry Kane even a sniff at goal.

And from Tottenham's perspective, that match would have been perfect to watch. After Spurs registered their first Champions League win of the season last night, they got to watch Chelsea capitulate against Bayern Munich.

Harry Kane being front and center of Chelsea's demise was not bittersweet; it was sweet. Sure, it would have been better in Lilywhite, but let's face it, any Harry Kane goal against Chelsea is a good goal.

In the first half, Harry Kane converted a penalty. It was a trademark Harry Kane penalty which Tottenham fans have seen many times before, and it certainly rolled back the years.

We'll look past the fact that it should not have been a penalty. In fact, Chelsea were pretty hard done by for both of their opening goals. Again, you didn't hear us say that.

Then, in the second half, Harry Kane was given far too much space in the opposing box. Obviously, he converted, and obviously, the ball went so far into the side-netting that any attempt at a save from Robert Sanchez would have looked silly. Kane has always been the best at making goalkeepers redundant.

Bayern Munich ultimately won the game Bayern 3-1 Chelsea. They now sit third in the league phase, five places ahead of Tottenham, with seven league games left to play. Bayern Munich does not face Tottenham in this phase of the competition, but there is every opportunity Harry Kane could return to Hotspur Way in the knockout phase. Then, Tottenham fans wouldn't be cheering his name.
