Tottenham Hotspur have still signed zero forwards this summer transfer window despite weeks of speculation linking them to a multitude of options. Wingers have been the main prize they are after, with Spurs pushing for Savinho again this summer, though Manchester City continue to make it seemingly impossible for Spurs to seal the deal for the Premier League star.
But even more badly than Savinho, Spurs need a forward who can bring goals to this team. Brazilian No.9 Richarlison scored more goals than anyone else on Tottenham in the Premier Leauge last season with 11, as Spurs lack any sort of attacking fire power since the departures of club legends Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
As Richarlison and Dominic Solanke both face potential transfer speculation, there is a debate raging at N17 regarding which player should be sold and replaced and which one should either start or compete with a new striker.
Tottenham's strikers are not good enough
With Eli Junior Kroupi injured and Bournemouth clearly not interested in selling even before that, Spurs risk coming out of the summer 2026 transfer window empty handed with so few striker options available.
So the debate has been almost strictly about Dominic Solank vs. Richarlison, and it seems like Roberto De Zerbi is having an even harder time committing to one over the other, as he sounds high on Solanke's skill set despite an abject failure of a 2025/26 Premier League season.
Solanke is already on his last legs at Tottenham after signing for a then record 65 million pounds just two years ago. And the fact that Tottenham are having a heated debate about who their best st striker is between Solanke and Richarlison is a massive problem in and of itself, because neither player is capable of leading a line as the 9 to a top five finish in the uber competitive Premier League.
Whlie Spurs made a trio of big summer transfer upgrades in center back Jan Paul van Hecke as well as midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, there can be no doubt that the striker position is still a huge vacancy for Spurs. And it is a huge problem that Tottenham are weighing up two underperforming veterans in a heated argument as to which option is the winner, because the reality is both men are so underwhelming options as starintg 9's for a Big Six Premier League club that the only real winner or loser is Tottenham in the losing column.
