Tottenham Hotspur have ended their two biggest transfer sagas on the selling end, sending Djed Spence to Serie A champions Inter Milan for a modest 27 million pounds and star center back Cristian Romero to Atletico Madrid, who have long wanted his services, for a touch under 35 million pounds.
Following the sales of these two defenders, it's time to take a look at how the starters and backups look in the back four for Tottenham.

With Djed Spence out, Andy Robertson officially moves up to be the main, veteran backup for Destiny Udogie, who will likely leave significant minutes on the table if his injury luck is as bad this season as it was last season. Meanwhile, Souza is getting a lot of loan interest abroad, especially in Portugal. He could be useful to Tottenham this season, but he honestly needs more minutes to develop. Expect him to leave the squad for the season soon.

2. Jan Paul van Hecke
3. Marcos Senesi
4. Kevin Danso
5. Kota Takai
Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke are highly trusted by Roberto De Zerbi and entrenched as a promising center back duo that should be better than a duo with Cristian Romero. That being said, Marcos Senesi was even better than both of them in the Premier League last season, and he is going to push Van Hecke for minutes. Finally, Kevin Danso and Kota Takai are great backups who could start for a few teams in the Premier League. After Takai's strong season on loan in the Bundesliga, he could push Danso for that fourth spot.

There is no depth at right back. The only right back in the Tottenham Hotspur squad after the sale of Djed Spence to Inter Milan is going to be Pedro Porro, who just so happens to be arguably the best right back in the world after playing literally everyone, including PSG star Achraf Hakimi, at the World Cup this summer as Spain won it all. Right now, the only backup to him is makeshift right back Archie Gray, who has been great in this position during the preseason, but even Roberto De Zerbi will tell you that playing Gray there will hurt his development. Spurs do need a new right back signing.
