No longer teammates, but permanently linked to one another as club legends, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min can finally say they've lifted trophies. The Tottenham Hotspur titans came close on countless occasions, but despite their best efforts, the criticism of a trophy-less résumé persisted.
In a span of 17 days, however, both Kane and Son have added the missing ingredient to otherwise remarkable legacies.
Kane struck first, finally taking home the trophy that had eluded him when Bayern Munich won the 2024-25 Bundesliga title. It was a bittersweet moment for Spurs fans, as they watched the ultimate fan favorite finally achieve glory with an entirely different club.
Thankfully, it didn't take long for Son to bring it all full circle by helping Tottenham win their first trophy in 17 years with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final.
Two of the greatest players in club and Premier League history can finally say they've hoisted a trophy during their professional careers.
Son Heung-min, Harry Kane finally hoist trophies
Son came on in the 67th minute during the 2025 Europa League final after exclusively being omitted from the starting lineup due to health. As soon as he did, fans erupted in support of the individual who has put the team on his back time and time again.
While he wasn't at 100 percent, Son's energy along the wings helped keep Manchester United at bay and propelled Tottenham to hold on for the Europa League title.
Son's Tottenham legacy is now solidified beyond dispute. The 32-year-old has scored 127 goals and distributed 71 assists in Premier League action, and helped the club reach the Champions League final in 2018-19.
Son currently ranks No. 16 in Premier League history in career goals scored and No. 17 in career assists—sitting just two goal involvements shy of 200 for his career.
As for Kane, he left Tottenham as one of the most prolific strikers to ever grace English football. He ranks No. 2 in Premier League history with 213 goals, trailing only Alan Shearer at 260, and added 46 assists for good measure.
Kane and Son, former teammates and still friends, combined for more goals than any other duo in Premier League history—and now have trophies to show for their individual success.
Perhaps the day will come when they're reunited as teammates, collaborating to give Spurs fans one more unforgettable memory. Even if that day never comes, however, the agonizing criticism of their lack of trophies can finally end.
It's fitting that both Kane and Son captured their first trophies in the same season, as though they were still teammates today.
