After his goal at the weekend in a classic Yorkshire derby, Spurs loanee Manor Solomon and his Leeds United side were back in action at Elland Road again on Wednesday night, this time Norwich City were standing in their way. The Canaries were sat bang in midtable in 12th but on a good run of form, with two teams full of confidence, it shaped up to be an interesting game.
Much like Sunday's victory over Sheffield Wednesday, Solomon and Leeds United would get off to the perfect start yet again, when in the very first minute of the game a ball played across the face of goal was tapped home by the Israeli winger, scoring the all important opening goal two games in a row, helping his side settle into the game and showing no nerves.
Later in the second half, Leeds made it two and Solomon was involved yet again, but this time getting the assist and repaying the favour to Welshman Daniel James. A delightful cross towards the back post where James delicately volleyed in. Solomon now has seven goal contributions in as many Championship games, with three matches in a row being involved in at least one. Solomon was substituted at the 74th minute with the game pretty much done and dusted, giving him some well earned rest for the last fifteen or so minutes.
Another goal for Manor Solomon and another win for his side
Leeds next play on Monday January the 27th, when they go to Turf Moor to take on Burnley, in what is a mouth-watering 3rd (Burnley) vs 1st (Leeds United) Championship fixture. The game will be on Sky Sports Main Event, and the kick off time is 8PM UK time. This could prove to be huge for the promotion race to the Premier League, so Solomon will want to carry on his fine form to pull away from their opponents, who are only three points behind them on 56, whilst Leeds have 59.
After that follows a home hame against Cardiff City who are right near the foot of the table and then a trip to the West Midlands to face Coventry City, before a fourth round FA Cup tie with fellow Championship club Millwall.
If the Israeli keeps performing like this, it definitely will give the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy something to think about in regards to keeping him at the club, but you do have to wonder that he might even want to stay in West Yorkshire permanently, especially if they succeed in their bid for promotion this season. He's a guaranteed starter every week, something that he is not at Spurs, and is 25-years-old, coming into the peak years of his career, and wouldn't want to waste them years on the bench!
