With the conclusion of 99% of the FA Cup first round proper games, the draw for the second round has now commenced. After a successful weekend, all three clubs with Spurs loanees were in the hat for the draw.
On Friday night, George Abbott's Notts County overcame National League North side Alfreton, winning 5-1, despite conceding first. Abbott played the 90 minutes at right wing-back.
On Saturday, Matthew Craig's Barnsley side overcame League Two opposition, as they beat Port Vale 3-1 away from home. Craig was an unused substitute by manager Darrell Clarke.
On Sunday, Josh Keeley and Jamie Donley's Leyton Orient squandered a 2-0 lead at National League South side Boreham Wood, but triumphed on penalties, with Keeley saving a Boreham Wood penalty. For the first time since both players joined the League One club, both Keeley and Donley were named in the starting XI by manager Richie Wellens.
As for the draw. Leyton Orient will have another game against non-league opposition, as they host National League side Oldham Athletic. Barnsley will play divisional rivals Bristol Rovers at home, as Clarke manages against his former club. This fixture has already been played in League One, with Barnsley coming out 2-1 winners.
Finally, Notts County have a trip to League One side Peterborough United, in no doubt the toughest fixture for each of the three sides.
The ties for the second round of the FA Cup will take place over the weekend of the 29th of November - 2nd December. This is the final round before teams from the Premier League and Championship come in - so there could be a potential big game for each side if they were to get through.
Orient have already faced Premier League opposition this season when they played at Brentford in the Carabao Cup, whilst Barnsley have already had a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United this season. Could we see a big game for George Abbott and Notts next? As mentioned before, they will have to get through the toughest tie of all three sides, but Peterborough certainly had to work against Notts' divisional rivals, Newport County - so you never know.
There could even be a tie against Spurs for one of the three sides - though parent club rules in England usually suggest that they would be unable to play in the game - unless both sides have gone out of their way to allow it to happen, in the event of a match up with each other.
