Just another example of why he is so highly rated

On Saturday evening, Mikey Moore continued his encouraging start to the season, as he scored an absolutely sublime individual goal for the England U19s away to the Netherlands U19s.

Receiving the ball just a few yards into the Dutch half, Moore immediately pulled off an impressive spin to get the ball into his stride. As a result, the pitch had really opened up for him and he continued to carry the ball into space. Two opposition players began to engage with the ball, as Moore used them as shields and ran inbetween the two of them and into even more space.

This gave him a run into the box, where a Dutch centre half engaged to try and jockey Moore, who was able to ride the challenge, continuing to run inside the box before having the composure to fire home a left footed-shot into the back of the net at the goalkeepers near post.

Hate to sound cliché, but having the composure to finish after doing all the hard work, sounds very unfamiliar to Timo Werner, who is currently starting ahead of Moore in the absence of Heung-Min Son.

That said, the debates become a bit void after the talk that the Spurs captain is looking to be ready for the showdown with West Ham United in the early kick off on Saturday – the first Premier League game after the break.

The 32-year old suggested he will be ready with an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon, giving fans even more reassurance. It has been suggested that Richarlison could be back for that one too, bolstering Ange Postecoglu’s options in attack even more.

However, the next time, for whatever reason, that Son is unavailable, whether it be through injury, suspension, or just needing a general rest – it is becoming harder and harder to make the case for starting over Moore in his absence.
