Tottenham Hotspur have not won a single game in the Premier League this season, and their biggest problem is the same that it was last season after the departure of legend Son Heung-min to the United States. Spurs simply can't find the back of the net. After finishing 17th and nearly getting relegated last season, Spurs sit in 20th despite signing Savio and Omar Marmoush to bolster their attack with the 185 million pound duo of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali behind them in midfield.
Spurs are sorely missing the quality they had up front, and, in a cruel twist, you can only imagine what Spurs would be able to achieve now with the midfield and defense they have, Roberto De Zerbi as their manager, and the duo of Harry Kane and Son up top.
Son has been missed as badly as anyone, and whlie he is no longer the same player, he still provides glimpses of the quality that the Lilywhites so sorely miss. In his latest magical moment, Son scored this insane free kick from the tightest of angles for the South Korean national team in their 3-0 win over Ecuador.
Tottenham aren't getting enough attacking quality
Sure, it was only a friendly, but on any pitch and in any setting, this brilliant free kick goal from Son Heung-min to make it 2-0 for South Korea was a special goal. It takes an amazing player to score like this with the high degree of technical difficulty and accuracy required, and Son is indeed a legend of this game.
Tottenham Hotspur really want to see some quality from their forwards this season. Savio is amazing in terms of his creativity and dribbling, and Mohammed Kudus showed pretty similar quality in his own first season of 2025/26, even under Thomas Frank.
But Dominic Solanke has been a disaster in front of goal since joining Spurs in 2024 from Bournemouth for a cool 65 million pounds, while Omar Marmoush has yet to show the magic in his boots that made him arguably the Bundesliga's best player before his big transfer to Manchester City.
Not since Son's peak at N17 have Spurs even had a competent attacking option in terms of goal scoring and all around play. Mohammed Kudus had a great first half of the 2025/26 season, but he only had seven goal contributions total. Spurs need someone like this who can score from anywhere at any time, and they just don't have anyone close.
