Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race to sign a young English striker, competing against Arsenal and Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly setting their sights on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, with the North London club keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.

Reports suggest that Spurs are leading the charge to sign the young forward, outpacing rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

Delap, an England under-21 international, is highly regarded in the footballing community and is valued at approximately €40 million.

His standout performances at Ipswich Town have caught the eye of a few big clubs, but Tottenham’s eagerness shows they’re keen to splash the cash on this promising talent.

Spurs have been in search of additional firepower following their acquisition of Dominic Solanke, who joined the club earlier this summer.

Despite the investment, Tottenham reportedly recognise the importance of having multiple options available to share the goal-scoring burden.

This is understandable given Richarlison's ongoing injury issues, or simply the fact that both he and other players like Timo Werner haven’t quite convinced Ange Postecoglou.

The former Manchester City Academy graduate has shown immense potential and the opportunity to move to a club like Tottenham could be a game-changer for his career.

With a solid track record of developing young players, Spurs could offer Delap the support and stage he needs to excel at the top level. This kind of environment would definitely help him grow faster and reach his impressive potential.

Tottenham's current standing in the race for Delap is noteworthy, particularly given the competition they face. Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the striker closely.

The Red Devils have struggled to find consistent form in their attacking unit, particularly with Joshua Zirkzee, who has yet to make a significant impact in the Premier League. As a result, United’s interest in Delap is not surprising, given their need for more reliable scoring options.

Arsenal is also on the lookout for a reliable goal-scorer. Gabriel Jesus has not been converting chances as consistently as they'd like, leaving the Gunners in need of a forward who can strengthen their attack.

Bringing in Delap could be just what they need to solve their goal-scoring problems and might set him up as a long-term replacement for the Brazilian.

With both Arsenal and Manchester United keen on the striker, the Tottenham board must act decisively to make Delap a key part of their future plans.
