According to journalist Dan Marsh of the Mirror, Jude Soonsup-Bell is on set to join Cordoba CF of Spain on a permanent transfer.

Soonsup-Bell joined the club from Chelsea in January of 2023 but has not managed to find the anticipated breakthrough into the first team, despite having played in a League Cup quarter-final with Chelsea.

He scored 10 goals and provided a further six assists in 19 Premier League 2 games last term, with fans hoping that he would then be able to get a chance in the first-team squad.

That, as said above, has not happened, however. Considering other youth players such as Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear were given the chance to play and impress in pre-season, the writing was on the wall for Soonsup-Bell when he didn't feature in a single matchday squad.

Furthermore, Soonsup-Bell is older than both of the aforementioned players, as well as the likes of Dane Scarlett and Alejo Veliz, who have both been loaned out.

As a result, it seems that Soonsup-Bell sees a move away, to a lower standard, as the best thing for his career to get minutes and optimize his development as a player.

According to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Tottenham will not receive a transfer fee, but will hold a 40% sell-on clause, should Cordoba sell the player in the future.

Cordoba currently competes in the Segunda division, perhaps more commonly known as "La Liga 2" losing their first game of the season away to Mirandes. They are playing in the second tier of Spanish football for the first time since 18/19, having been promoted via the play-offs from the third tier last season.

Talk of a move away has been spoken about for a week or two now, and it appears a move is now on the verge of happening.

Chelsea are known for their 'Cobham' academy and the number of top-level players that it produces, so hopefully Spurs have not let one slip the net here.
