According to GiveMeSport, Spurs have "absolutely no regrets" about the signing of Dominic Solanke, with the coaches at the club "confident" that their star summer signing will be a success in N17.

The reported fees for Solanke have fluctuated from source to source, but the consensus is that Spurs at least paid £55m + £10m in add ons to Bournemouth for his services. Should those add ons be activated, you would have assumed the striker has been a success in North London.

Solanke scored his first goal for the club against Brentford at the weekend, in what was just his third Premier League game for the club, having picked up an injury against Leicester City on the opening weekend of the season.

GiveMeSport have revealed that there is no fear within the club at all that things will not work out for the 27-year-old, with Ange and his coaching staff excited about his potential progression at the club.

The report says that Spurs have been working on different patterns of play in training to try and optimise the impact of Solanke, with the club believing he will "be lethal in front of goal" provided he gets the service.

Finally, they add that Ange Postecoglu sees the striker as a "good fit" for Spurs and is "adamant" that their new signing has the work rate and technique required to be a success in his system.

Whilst there is nothing crazy mentioned here, considering you would have seriously hoped and assumed the club would not be "giving up" on a striker just over a month after signing, the point about service is absolutely correct.

Even though Solanke would have liked to have got at least two with the chances he got against Brentford, the fact he got those chances is far more encouraging than the game against Coventry City, where the striker did not have a shot in 62 minutes on the pitch.
